7 Photographers in Lagos we absolutely love
Thanks to Instagram, these days, anyone with a cool smartphone is a potential photographer. To all those who go to Google to search for ‘Photographers in Lagos‘ look no further. The millenial next to you with an iPhone camera is most likely a photographer who can help you with your pre-wedding shoots or for any other purpose which requires a lensman.
As the photography industry continues to grow in Nigeria, we wanted to find out the best professional photographers in Lagos and so we polled our Instagram followers to get their recommendations on the best photographers in Lagos. The response was massive and it is what spurred us into creating this list.

We decided not to include any big names in this article so you won’t find George Okoro, T.Y Bello or Kelechi Amadi Obi on this list.
What you’ll find are photographers who are not so known yet but are putting out high quality works to the admiration of Lekki Republic followers whom we know to have really great taste.
After going through the Instagram profiles of the recommended photographers in the 30 plus comments, we’ve selected 7 of them whose works we really love.
It was really hard selecting the eventual 7 photographers that made the list. Everyone who was nominated puts out really great photographs (except the ones whose profiles we couldn’t check see because they were set on private).
However, we want to commend everyone who was suggested for review. We encourage you to keep putting out great works.
In no particular order, here’s the Lekki Republic list of 7 favourite photographers in Lagos.
Call him a celebrity photographer if you like. AmazingKlef has grown from his humble days at Alaba international market into one of the most sought after photographers for Nigerian celebrities. His works are urban themed and he creates artworks for the songs of Nigerian musicians. Among his clients are rapper Iceprince, Harrysongz, Kizz Daniel, Orezi, Solidstar and even actress Tonto Dikeh.
We really could not skip Omotayo. The sheer quality of his images earned him a spot on this list. What we love about OA’s images are the really clear editing of his photos. Every photo on his Instagram timeline came out perfect.

We love his attention to detail. He is that guy to go for your potrait shots.
Having honed his skills for years at Ringier Nigeria, (owners of Pulse.ng and RDM) who are big new media publishers that have put out some of the most viral content in Nigeria, it’s a no brainer that Abass aka Moonlight pictures will be a top photographer in Nigeria. He learned from the best and it is evident in his works.
Never seen pictures this clean. This guy should be your pre-wedding photographer. Check out one of his photos below.

5. Snap it Oga
Devesh Ubah is his real name. SnapitOga has taken some of the most iconic photos that have gone viral in Lagos. He is an expat with such a deep understanding of the Nigerian culture as a local. Not afraid to accompany his photos with his experiences (both pleasant and unpleasant), that’s a reason he’s one of our favourites.
6. Mohinii Ufeli
Mohinii is a professional storyteller. She has used her multi-media skills to create a favourable image and brand for some of Nigeria’s biggest millenial focused companies. Mohinii helped tell the story of Andela during Mark Zuckerberg’s visit to Nigeria. She’s currently at payments giant Paystack doing her magic.
”The photos are nice, but check the captions”….. reads Yusuf’s Instagram bio. The story telling and witty captions that goes with Yusuf’s photos is what earns him a spot on the list.
Who among all the photographers listed here is your favourite? We’ll be doing a feature on city/landscape and drone photographers in Lagos. Watch out for that.
