Emmanuel Macron the French President during a recent visit to Lagos, Nigeria commissioned a new French cultural centre Alliance Francaise in the city.
According to Macron, the centre was part of the measures to scale up the relationship between France and Nigeria.
The centre will try to bring together Nigerian and French nationals, collaborating on projects and integrating and promoting both cultures & arts, languages, literature, music, movies from both countries.
Also in attendance as Macron commissioned the French alliance in Ikoyi, Lagos were state governor Akinwumi Ambode and renowned nobel laureate Wole Soyinka.

Macron had earlier visited the Fela shrine, a cultural hub on Lagos Mainland he frequented when he interened at the French embassy in Nigeria in the early 2000’s.
