Fibre lets you pay house rent monthly in Lagos
If you are looking for a house to rent in Lagos, you should know already that unlike in other cities across the world where house rent is paid monthly, in Lagos, landlords only accept annual payments for rent.
Sometimes even if you get a house to let, some landlords go the extra mile of asking intending tenants to make a two-year down payment for rent in addition to extra charges like agency fees, agreement, and service charge.
This practice is not just prevalent on the Lekki-Ajah/Island axis alone. You’ll also find it in Surulere, Yaba, Ikeja and other parts of Lagos mainland.
For the average young working-class person who intends to get a place of their own, this puts a strain on their pockets as they have to save for months to be able to afford a decent place to live in Lagos.
However, we’ve discoverd Fibre.com, a company that lets you pay house rent monthly in Lagos.
On Fibre, they give you the option of paying quarterly for the house and even choose a flatmate to share the living cost.
While I love the concept behind fibre.com, the only thing I don’t like about it is that the service is not available in all of Lagos. You can only use Fibre to rent a house in areas like Lekki, Ikoyi, Agungi & Chevron drive which are high rent areas in Lagos.
Despite recently adding Surulere on their website, as of the time of writing this article, there were no houses listed for the area on their site.
Despite the fact that the Fibre service makes it easier to now pay rent in Lagos, quite a number of young working-class Lagosians may still not be able to afford the service due to some of the reasons stated earlier.
Therefore they might still resolve to use the other channels to look for a house to rent in Lagos.
Note that we’re not affiliated with Fibre.com and neither did they pay
