General Electric (GE) To Power Lekki Free Trade Zone
Popular American power generating company General electric has announced that 4 units of its Waukesha gas Enginators technology have been commissioned in the Lekki free trade zone, providing 4 hours of uninterrupted power supply to the area. This is coming after one year of the country’s operations in Nigeria.
The MyLekki team is glad that projects are actually springing up in the zone. Just this morning, we announced that the Lagos state government is seriously thinking about building a 10-lane expressway along the Lekki-Epe corridor to link Ijebu Ode in Ogun state. This is in anticipation of heavy vehicular flow and commercial activities once the area is fully developed.
The Lekki free trade zone is expected to solidify Nigeria’s reputation as the commercial hub of Africa. Laudable projects being constructed in the area include a deep sea port and a refinery owned by Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote.
