The Lagos state government has fixed Saturday, May 2nd 2015 as the new date for the annual Lagos carnival which was moved from the traditional Easter Monday date due to the just concluded general elections.
Commissioner for tourism Disun Holloway made the announcement.
The very colourful Lagos Boat Regatta, which usually takes place before the carnival, held last Sunday, 19th April at the Oyinkan Abayomi Drive in Ikoyi.
Both the Boat Regatta and the Carnival are part of the Lagos Black Heritage Festival which attracts tourists from all around the world to the state of aquatic splendour.
That weekend is set to be a fun one in Lagos as multiple Grammy award winner Lauryn Hill will perform at the Eko Hotel on the 1st of May.
