Newly elected governor of Lagos state Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has vowed to eradicate the ever present traffic along the Lekki-Epe expressway.
The heavy traffic, a nightmare to commuters occurs between 6AM to 9AM when people are heading to work and between 5PM to 8:30PM when they’re usually returning.
However, the Lekki traffic is often unpredictable and can sometimes occur in the afternoon. The recent fuel scarcity which hit the Lekki-Ajah axis and other areas around Lagos added to the already existing problem with long vehicular fuel queues extending from the filling station to the road.
However, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, the newly elected Lagos state governor, has said he will hold a summit to address severe traffic gridlocks in Lekki, Apapa and other parts of Lagos, promising that experts will find a lasting solution to the problem.
