Lekki, Ikoyi, residents urged to aid Makurdi flood victims
Lekki and Ikoyi residents have been urged to come to the aid of flood victims in Makurdi, Benue state following the recent flooding that has seen up to 110,000 people across 24 communities displaced from their homes.
The call for aid was made by the Angel 4 life foundation in collaboration with R1 Sixteen Company and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
According to Nikki Laoye, founder of the Angel 4 life foundation who made the call via Instagram, Lekki and Ikoyi residents can donate Clothing items, Food, Medical Supplies or cash to the victims of the Makurdi floods.
Just a few months ago, the Lekki floods of 2017 made headlines after Lagos mainland residents began to make a mockery of the so called expensive Lekki area because of the floods. Ironically, just a week after the Lekki floods, photos emerged of a flooded mainland.
This goes to show that irrespective of class or geographic location, anyone anywhere can still be affected by a human/natural disaster of whatever form.
The city of Texas in the United States is currently suffering from the effects of Hurricane Harvey which have caused flooding that has seen up to 100,000 homes destroyed.
To support the Angel 4 life foundation, you can make donations either in Ikoyi or Lekki.
